MUSIC THAT MOVES
Music that Moves is a documentary series investigating music from around the world and the ways that it moves—across cultural and geographic borders, between and within people, and more. The first episode was released in Fall, 2020, to great acclaim and was focused on The Chinese two-stringed instrument called the Erhu and how it is a manifestation of cross-cultural interaction over the course of centuries. The process of making these videos is difficult and extremely rewarding. So far, the research, filming, and editing have all been undertaken as solo efforts by Lawson. However, my collaborators who allowed me to interview them, or include their music, or who provided support via feedback and ideas deserve all my gratitude (and they have it)!
